Mourne Textiles

For three generations the master weavers at Mourne textiles have produced the midcentury visions of Norwegian design pioneer and founder, Gerd Hay-Edie who collaborated with influential figures such as Robin Day and Terence Conran in her day.

Mourne Textiles is now a 21st century entity that stays true to its history and tradition but with a firm position within the present-day market. Now led by Gerd’s grandson Mario Sierra, who works between London and the Mourne Hills in County Down, Northern Ireland Mario and his family stay true to Gerd’s ideals, nurturing the craft of handloom weaving and training a new generation of weavers.

Mourne Textiles continues to use natural, high-quality materials such as undyed fleece and custom-dyed yarns to match the heritage palettes and iconic designs created by Gerd in its contemporary range of scarves, homewares and furnishing fabrics inspired by a rich weaving heritage.
