Speed up the process of selling with a mix of midcentury & modern styled by our founders former stylist and journalist Lucy Ryder Richardson and graphic designer Petra Curtis. A leap away from the showhome look, the dynamic duo mix iconic midcentury with cool contemporary from the latest designers to make your home stand out but still look loved and lived-in. All too often the pieces seen dressing new developments come in as freshmen with no patina or story to tell. We have access to early pieces from the likes of Eames, Cherner, Bertoia and Nelson with our own archive and contemporary at a discount. We are in contact with thousands of dealers and designers and have built a reputation over 15 years styling spaces and curating shows.
“Modern Shows dressing of our show house really helped to sell the property. The mix of midcentury modern furniture and contemporary design created an aspirational setting that allowed potential buyers to envisage themselves in the space and aspire to purchase.” Jonathan Rose – Delbanco, Meyer and Co.
The service is not super-expensive. While most clients go for the mid-range packages £9,000 up to £25,000, smaller one bedroom flats and houses start from as little as £5,000 plus VAT for a three month dressing with iconic pieces, books, sheets, throws, towels, soaps, smalls, quirky objects and paintings all included. Modern Shows’ staging service is cheaper than hiring the furniture directly from dealers and companies who stage using all modern pieces.
“Modern Shows arrived with great style and charm to create a wonderful and authentic space within our modern development in Barnsbury.” Robin and Susan Hodges
You can often achieve a hike in sale from the styling spend as a queue of interested buyers build up. By adding emotion to the setting you will see your property tug at the heartstrings. In America where staging is more established you would expect to pay more for this service.
Lucy and Petra work with architects new builds regularly for The Modern House estate agency. Other jobs include an office and dining room for Saatchi and Saatchi, office meeting room, reception and snug for Danish company Adform and dining and deli decor for Brindisa restaurants.
