Sworders C20 Design Sale - 13 October
Our shows may be grounded for the foreseeable future but that does not stop us getting excited by the latest happenings in the virtual vintage world. There are still people investing (what with interest rates at an all time low) and where better to go than Marketplace member Sworders' Design sale on Tuesday 13 October with over 550 stunning lots of C20 furniture, lighting and furnishings to bring a touch of Palm Springs to your home?
Expect a glut of Post-War rosewood and chrome, plenty of on-trend cane and rattan furniture and a large section of lighting. If your passion is Stilnovo then the 1950s model B.4917 adjustable wall lights that look like a kind of flying saucer/horseshoe-crab hybrid could be just the thing for your home or interior project.
We are particularly looking forward to the studio pottery section with over forty examples in the sale. A second offering from Trevor Coldrey, who ran the Harlequin Gallery in Greenwich, with works by Dan Kelly, Bill Marshall, Colin Pearson and Modern Shows® favourite John Ward. We are also super-excited to see a piece from top weaver Peter Collingwood included in the sale. On a lighter 'note' there is a guitar and instrument section bursting with examples from Hofner, Adrian Smith, Tokai and Rickenbacker for the muso's out there.
