Hopfrog X Hornsea

Hornsea Potteries was founded in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson. Driven by a wide array of design influences the pottery quickly grew from being a purveyor of seaside tourist trinkets to the largest studio pottery in the world, employing over 700 people. A great British design story involving some of the giants of British pattern and ceramic design, Hornsea remains a much loved and influential brand, with a timeless appeal.

Hopfrog is the UK licensing partner of Hornsea Potteries Intellectual properties USA LLC. Located at the historic Hornsea pottery site, this shop offers a blend of vintage and new Hornsea Pottery items alongside the full range of new Hornsea products by UK designers such as Magpie, Storigraphic, Liga, Esk Valley Lampshades, Ada Binks, and Mabel Sheppard.

Dedicated to preserving Hornsea's rich heritage you can chat to Hopfrog owner Nick Burton alongside 25 more talented designers and brands upstairs in the contemporary section of the fair.

Free London Exhibition

This free Midcentury exhibition, in collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro, delves into the interactions between abstraction, symbolism, and figuration in a vibrantly creative time in Brazil. See the abstract geometries of artists including Judith Lauand, Lygia Clark, Hélio Oiticica, and Lygia Pape. Enjoy Afro-Brazilian symbology, rooted in spiritual practices like Candomblé, pioneered by artists Mestre Didi, Abdias Nascimento, and Rubem Valentim.

"Some May Work as Symbols" reflects on gaps in Brazilian art history, presenting pieces by thirty artists, many never before exhibited in the UK, gleaned from museum and private collections. It is open until 5th May 2024 at:
