“The brilliantly curated Modern Shows is a must-visit event for anyone after original mid-century design.” Charlotte Abrahams, freelance design writer FT How to Spend it, Guardian, Observer, Elle Decoration

Furnish your home with design classics while snooping around a Goldfinger masterpiece

Head East to the recently refurbished Grade II listed Haggerston School, Erno Goldfinger’s only secondary built between 1964 and '65. The Hungarian-born London-based Modernist was one of the first architects to develop the use of concrete aesthetically in the UK inspired by Auguste Perret and Le Corbusier and you will see them in the ceilings especially as you get a rare glimpse inside this working school which has some of Goldfinger's boldest interiors to date. Erno Goldfinger was the architect behind Trellick Tower in Golborne Rd and the inspiration behind the Bond character of the same name so it is very fitting that one of our dealers, Saxon from Metro Retro who has supplied Bond films, will be one of the dealers showing.

If you are mad about The Eames, Jacobsen, Bertoia,  Nelson, Wegner, Charley Harper and The Days you will definitely get your fill from Europe’s best Midcentury Dealers in furniture, ceramics, glass, wallpaper, vintage fabrics, industrial, clocks, collectable posters and much, much more. Check out Modern Shows popular sourcing directory at www.themodernmarketplace.com to get a taste of what is to come and the kind of pieces Goldfinger himself would have had at his house, now owned by the National Trust on Willow Rd in Hampstead.

Taking part: Mobelfabrik from Belgium, Retro Living, Form & Function, Scandi-Mod, Travel on Posters, Saunders Fine Art, Orson and Welles, 20th Century Marks, Twentieth Century Antiques, MAR-DEN, Beton Brut, metroretro, Scandinavian by Design, Sarah Potter, 1934, Diagonal Furniture, Fragile Design, Grasilver, GP Light and More, Bleu, Early Bird Vintage, Post War Design and Before, Haji and White, Twentieth Century Furnishings, Elliott and Tate, Moderne, RetroBazaar, TS Design Studio, The Beni Ourain Rug Co, Inge Connor, Wunderkammer...

“Vintage furniture dealers come out in force at this excellent mid-century fair, featuring classics of British, American and Scandinavian twentieth-century design from Eames to Ercol. A very stylish showcase of high quality, highly covetable furniture and homewares that you can buy direct from the dealers.” Time Out

“This show is stuffed with all the recognisable classics of Scandinavian, American and British heroes of 20C design. It's like visiting a design museum where you can sit on the classics, talk to knowledgable people and then take the exhibits home with you. I enjoy every show immensely and would recommend this show to any lover of design.” Matthew Hilton

“Damn you @modernshows and your beautiful vintage furniture. #Quality” @absolutebombs
